Sarasota’s “Party Under the Stars” to be Held ‘Under the Big Top’ With Ray Collins as Emcee
Gala Event Benefits Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation
Bradenton, Fla., December 6, 2023 — One of Sarasota’s most popular fundraisers, “Party Under the Stars,” announced a circus-theme for the 2024 gala evening that benefits The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation. The event will be held February 24, 2024 at the Sailor Circus Arena, 2075 Bahia Vista St, Sarasota FL, and features Honorary Co-Chairs Elizabeth Guancial, MD and Pavan Tandra, MD, both of whom are medical oncologists practicing at the Sarasota downtown location of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS). The FCS Foundation provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified adult cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida, allowing them to focus on their treatment and recovery, rather than overdue bills.
“We are thrilled to announce that former television news anchor Ray Collins will serve as our emcee and ring master,” said FCS Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys. “We are also excited that our new venue, the Sailor Circus Arena, is providing some amazing circus acts as entertainment for the evening. It’s going to be a spectacular event that will help provide non-medical financial assistance to cancer patients and their families.”
A popular TV News Anchor for 30+ years, Ray Collins has now transitioned into travel writing, media consulting, politics, business development and is among the top 1% of Realtors in Sarasota. As a travel writer, Ray has been published more than a hundred times, covering destinations around the world – from Hawaii to Vancouver to Portugal. Ray is also connected to local and regional media and is able to help clients get their stories in the news. He also shoots and produces top-notch broadcast-quality videos that get used on the news or at corporate functions.
“Party Under the Stars” is the FCS Foundation’s signature event in Sarasota. This festive evening is chaired by Foundation Board Member Marjan Zaun, Associate Director of Ancillary Services at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, and co-chaired by Kimberly Becker, Business Development Associate at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. The event features dining, dancing, entertainment and silent and live auctions with fabulous items. Tickets are $425 per person / $4,000 for a table of 10 and may be purchased at FCSF.org/Stars2024. Sponsorship opportunities are now available. Please call 941.677.7186 for more information.

About Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation
The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation provides financial support to qualified adult cancer patients in the state of Florida for expenses such as rent or mortgage, car payments and utility bills. By giving patients peace of mind in knowing that their bills are being paid while they are undergoing treatment, the FCS Foundation allows them to concentrate on what really matters – fighting cancer.
Due to the generosity of the Florida Cancer Specialists physicians in covering all overhead expenses for the Foundation, 100% of donations received go directly toward paying the essential non-medical living expenses of an adult battling cancer.
